Tiko Council Civil Status Registry Advances Toward Full Digitalization

TIKO – The Tiko Council Civil Status Registry is set to become fully digitalized following a one-day capacity-building training aimed at improving the efficiency and management of civil status services.

The training session, held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Council, brought together the four Deputy Mayors of Tiko CouncilHon. Efite Andrew, Mrs. Ngomba Elmina, Valery Ndisa, and Waindim Rudolf – alongside staff of the Civil Status Service.

The session was chaired by the South West Regional Chief of the National Civil Status Registration Office (BUNEC), Mr. Walters Ndzerem.

The interactive training formed part of follow-up activities to ensure the effective implementation of the digitalization process for civil status documents at Tiko Council.

Participants were introduced to the procedures involved in the digital management of civil status records and had the opportunity to seek clarifications through a question-and-answer session.

With the digital system now established and staff equipped with the necessary knowledge, Tiko Council is expected to fully transition its Civil Status Registry to a digital platform in the coming days.

The digitalization initiative is expected to improve record management, enhance service delivery, and make access to civil status documents more efficient for residents.

It should be noted that Tiko Council was among the pilot councils selected by BUNEC in the South West Region for the digitalization of civil status documents.
